The Costume Designer Show

Having worked on more than 1000 films and with eight academy awards to her name, Edith Head is considered royalty in Hollywood when it comes to costume design. Thanks to its growing international reputation, Bendigo Art Gallery will host an exhibition featuring more than 70 costumes and items from Edith’s career which spanned some five decades.
The Costume Designer: Edith Head and Hollywood will be at the gallery from September 29 to January 21. Films highlighted in the exhibition include The Ten Commandments, Samson and Delilah. The Emperor’s Waltz, Sunset Boulevard, Vertigo, The Heiress and more.
The exhibition features costumes worn by Shirley Temple, Gloria Swanson, Veronica Lake, Olivia De Havilland, Dorothy Lamour, Jane Russell, Hedy Lamarr, Anne Baxter, Fred Astaire and Yul Brynner.

Concession tickets include Seniors and Heath Care Card holders, pensioners and full time tertiary students. Proof on entitlement must be presented on entry to the exhibition.

- Children under 5 are free and do not require a ticket
We suggest allowing 60 to 90 minutes to view the exhibition. Once in the exhibition space customers may stay as long as they like prior to the Gallery closing at 5pm. There are no pass outs from the exhibition.
